Sunflower Rouge Royale
Sunflower Rouge Royale

Description

'Rouge Royale' is a stunning, true red sunflower, on multi-branching plants. A dramatic accent in beds, borders, and arrangements. For highest quality cut flowers, planting closer together will produce longer stems and smaller flowers. For long-lasting vase life, cut before flower is completely open. 'Rouge Royale' doesn't drop its pollen making it all beauty and no mess. Sunflowers are edible, with a bittersweet flavor. The petals add a pretty pop of color ion salads and desserts. The young, sunflower buds are edible, with a flavor similar to artichoke hearts. They can be grilled, marinated, or sautéed for an unusual appetizer or side dish. Drought tolerant once established.
