Fish Zithro - Azithromycin
Fish Zithro - Azithromycin

Description

Semisynthetic broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic — highly effective against intracellular and atypical bacterial infections in ornamental fish.

Why choose Azithromycin? Azithromycin belongs to the macrolide antibiotic class — a distinct family from penicillins and fluoroquinolones. It is especially effective against intracellular bacteria and atypical pathogens that other antibiotic classes struggle to reach. It is an excellent choice when popeye, gill disease, or skin ulcers have not responded to standard antibiotics, and is one of the shortest treatment courses available at just 5–6 days.

About This Product

Azithromycin is a semisynthetic, broad-spectrum macrolide antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial microorganisms. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis — stopping bacteria from reproducing rather than directly killing them — which gives the fish's immune system the opportunity to clear the infection.

Each tablet contains USP-grade azithromycin 250mg. The macrolide class is particularly well-suited for infections involving intracellular bacteria and atypical organisms that can be difficult to treat with penicillin- or fluoroquinolone-class antibiotics. It offers one of the shortest treatment courses of any aquarium antibiotic at 5–6 days.

Also commonly searched as: fish azithromycin, azithromycin for fish, z-pack fish antibiotic, fish zithro equivalent, aqua zithro equivalent, macrolide fish antibiotic.
