Fish Amox Clav - Amoxicillin / Clavulanate
Fish Amox Clav - Amoxicillin / Clavulanate

Description

Enhanced broad-spectrum antibiotic with beta-lactamase inhibitor — for resistant bacterial infections in ornamental aquarium fish.

Why choose Amoxicillin/Clavulanate over plain Amoxicillin? The addition of clavulanate potassium acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor — it blocks the enzyme that bacteria use to destroy amoxicillin, making this combination effective against resistant bacterial strains that plain amoxicillin cannot defeat. If a previous amoxicillin treatment was unsuccessful, this is your next step.

About This Product

Amoxicillin/Clavulanate Potassium is a semisynthetic, broad-spectrum antibiotic combination formulated to treat both gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial microorganisms — including strains that have developed resistance to standard antibiotics.

Each tablet contains 875mg of USP-grade amoxicillin paired with 125mg of clavulanate potassium, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Together, they neutralize the bacterial defense mechanism that allows resistant infections to survive conventional amoxicillin treatment. This makes it an essential tool for stubborn or recurring bacterial infections that have not responded to first-line antibiotics.

Also commonly searched as: amox-clav for fish, augmentin-type fish antibiotic, beta-lactamase resistant fish antibiotic, SMZ-TMP alternative.

Commonly Treats

  • Resistant fin rot & tail rot
  • Chronic gill disease
  • Recurring dropsy
  • Resistant columnaris (mouth rot)
  • Bacterial hemorrhagic septicemia
  • Persistent open wounds & ulcers
  • Beta-lactamase producing bacteria
  • Infections unresponsive to standard amoxicillin

Directions for Use

  1. Determine your dose: Use one 875mg/125mg tablet per 40 gallons of aquarium water.
  2. Dissolve the tablet in a small amount of aquarium water before adding to the tank. Stir until fully dissolved.
  3. Add directly to your aquarium, pond, or hospital/quarantine tank.
  4. Repeat every 24 hours for 5–10 days. Do not exceed 10 days of continuous treatment.
  5. Perform a 25% water change each day before re-dosing to maintain water quality and reduce antibiotic buildup.
