Description
Synthetic broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone — a next-generation alternative when ciprofloxacin has not resolved resistant bacterial infections in ornamental fish.
Why choose Levofloxacin? Levofloxacin is a third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic — a more advanced and targeted version of the fluoroquinolone class than ciprofloxacin. It provides enhanced gram-positive coverage while maintaining the strong gram-negative activity of the fluoroquinolone class. It is the ideal choice when ciprofloxacin or other broad-spectrum antibiotics have not fully resolved an infection, or when a particularly stubborn or resistant bacterial strain is suspected. Also known in human medicine as Levaquin, it is one of the most potent fluoroquinolones available without a prescription for ornamental fish.
About This Product
Levofloxacin is a synthetic, broad-spectrum third-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive bacterial microorganisms. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV — two enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication — making it highly effective against bacteria that have developed resistance to earlier-generation antibiotics.
Each tablet contains USP-grade Levofloxacin 500mg in a 30-tablet count. As a third-generation fluoroquinolone, levofloxacin provides broader and more potent coverage than ciprofloxacin, particularly against gram-positive and atypical organisms that ciprofloxacin may not fully address. It is the antibiotic of choice when first- or second-line treatments have failed and a highly resistant infection is suspected.
Also commonly searched as: fish levofloxacin, levofloxacin for fish, levaquin fish antibiotic, aquarium fluoroquinolone, resistant fish bacterial infection treatment, fish antibiotic when cipro fails.
