Description
Synthetic triazole antifungal agent — targeted treatment for fungal infections in freshwater and saltwater ornamental fish.
Antifungal — not an antibiotic. Fluconazole targets fungal organisms, not bacteria. If your fish has a bacterial infection, browse our fish antibiotic collection. If you are unsure whether the infection is fungal or bacterial, look for white cottony patches, fuzzy growths, or cloudy eye — these are common signs of fungal disease.
Why choose Fluconazole? Fluconazole is a synthetic triazole antifungal — one of the most effective and well-tolerated antifungal agents available for ornamental fish. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes, causing the fungal cells to rupture and die. It is particularly effective against internal and systemic fungal infections, making it the preferred choice when topical treatments or water-soluble antifungals have not resolved the condition. Also commonly known as Diflucan, it is highly regarded by aquarium hobbyists for its reliable efficacy and broad antifungal spectrum.
About This Product
Fluconazole is a synthetic triazole antifungal agent effective against a broad spectrum of fungal organisms affecting ornamental fish. It works by inhibiting the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, which is essential for ergosterol biosynthesis in fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, fungal cells cannot maintain structural integrity and die — while fish cells remain unaffected since they do not contain ergosterol.
Each tablet contains USP-grade Fluconazole 100mg in a 30-tablet count. Fluconazole is especially valuable for treating internal and systemic fungal infections that do not respond to topical or water-additive treatments. It is one of the most respected antifungal options in ornamental fishkeeping and is effective in both freshwater and saltwater tanks.
Also commonly searched as: fish fluconazole, fluconazole for fish, fish fungal infection treatment, diflucan fish antifungal, fish flucon equivalent, triazole fish antifungal, aquarium antifungal medication.
