Egg color comes from the breed, not the feed. Mix a few of these into your flock and every carton looks different.
Blue
Cream Legbar and Ameraucana lay true blue eggs. Easter Eggers often lay blue too, though each hen's shade varies.
Green and olive
Easter Eggers can lay green or blue-green. Olive Eggers — a cross between a blue-egg and a dark-brown-egg breed — lay olive green eggs.
Chocolate
Marans, especially Black Copper Marans, are known for the darkest brown eggs, with color that's darkest at the start of a laying season.
Speckled and terracotta
Welsummers lay rich terracotta eggs, often with darker speckles.
