Grass Seed In the Pittsboro area grass has to be one of the most challenging things to grow. Why? Because a majority of us have a very dense clay soil. Red clay to be more exact.
To be successful at growing a beautiful lawn we have to first prepare our soil. If at all possible a good topsoil would be best, but because this can be a costly way to go, we suggest fertilizing the soil prior to planting. This then gives the seed a good growing medium.
Early spring and late fall are optimal times to plant. The sun and heat aren't quite as harsh and your seed has a better chance of survival. And most important water!
We at Pittsboro Feed have a large selection of seed to choose from that would be best for your location.
Feel free to call or come in and pick our brains. We can help you attain the lawn that you have been dreaming of.
We also carry pasture mix for both cattle and horses!
